Neil Pryde introduced the RAF CAM Dynamic in 1990 as one of the last Dacron/Mylar composite sails. 1990 also signals the RAF CAM concept being applied to almost the entire Neil Pryde range. The CAM in this case is an optional plastic piece that goes around the mast and connects to the longest batton (above the window) Notice the 'Neil Pryde' name is written along the top of the leech (this started in 1989).
While the RAF CAM Dynamic is considered a 'sport' sail suitable for most conditions except heavy waves. For dedicated wave sailing the RAF CAM Wave was available . At the bottom of this page you can see the 4.5sqm RAF CAM Wave. Most noticable is the heavy / reinforced construction.
